New at Maxinodes: our own webmail, automatic payment and a new pay page

New in September: our own webmail at webmail.maxinodes.com, automatic payment for renewals, a new card payment page, and a client area that stays in your language.

A cream checklist card with three rows, an open envelope, a bank card with a circular arrow and a small globe, each marked with a coral tick, on a warm cream background

September changed a few things in how you read your mail, pay your invoices and use the client area. Mailboxes had a note of their own; here is the rest in one place.

Webmail at webmail.maxinodes.com#

The mailboxes included with your plan now open at webmail.maxinodes.com. It is our own webmail, built on Roundcube with our own design, and it runs on a separate server in the Netherlands. Sign in with the full email address and the mailbox's password; your client area password is a different one and won't work there.

  • Filters, an out-of-office reply and a page to change the mailbox's password.
  • Spell checking in 17 languages, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish and Russian among them. It runs on our own server, not a third-party service.
  • English or Russian, whichever you pick on the sign-in page.

The Open webmail button on your hosting service in the client area leads there, and so does an old webmail.yourdomain.com bookmark. Mail apps are not affected: Outlook, Apple Mail and your phone keep the settings they have.

Automatic payment for renewals#

Since 16 September, renewal invoices can be paid automatically with a card saved by Whop, our payment provider. Turn it on in the client area under Billing → Automatic payment. Since 21 September, paying a new order by card also turns it on, for all the services and domains on your account; the checkout says so, and shows what will renew, for how much and when, before you pay.

Each renewal invoice still reaches you by email about two weeks before it falls due, and the card is charged three days before the due date. You can turn automatic payment off at any time in the same place, which also removes the card. If a renewal will cost more than you last paid, we email you at least 30 days before it. The full detail is in the payments note and clause 9 of the Terms of Service.

A new page for paying a new order#

When you pay a new order by card, the card form now sits on our own page at my.maxinodes.com, with Apple Pay and Google Pay inside it where your device supports them. The card details go straight to Whop; we never see the number. If a card is declined, the page tells you and you can try another one without starting the order again.

The client area stays in your language#

If your account is set to Russian, the client area now stays in Russian. Before, parts of it could switch to English, for example after you had opened an English page on our website. Switching the language inside the client area now also changes the language of your invoices and emails.

Fixed: saving in the DNS editor#

Until 22 September, saving a change in the client area's DNS editor failed with a "Security token mismatch" error. It saves now. If a change you made back then didn't stick, please make it again.

Questions about any of it: write to us or open a ticket from the client area.
